Connectable hospital bed designed for patient safety

Design may also simplify day-to-day nursing tasks

A new bed and therapy mattress was designed for better patient safety and outcomes, according to an article on the AT Today website.

The bed also may simplify day-to-day nursing tasks, including the weighing and early mobilization of patients.

An in-bed scale allows caregivers to weigh and calculate patients’ BMI  It also gives caregivers the capability to complete patient X-Rays in bed with an X-Ray accessory.

A three-mode bed exit alarm alerts the caregiver when the patient gets out of bed and a side egress system allows caregivers to level the bed horizontally as well as re-positioning the backrest to achieve the optimal ergonomic conditions for getting out of bed.
