Creating a healthcare facility campus security master plan

Creating this types of plan will better prepare a facility to provide needed information, control and awareness


Incorporating construction plans, ensuring equipment interoperability and determining future security personnel needs are just some of the measures campuses should incorporate to improve their overall safety and security, according to an article on the Campus Safety magazine.

There are many steps needed to develop a master plan. Start by documenting the security mission and physical security objectives, in addition to equipment and technology to be used in securing the campus.

The plan should consider the impact it will have on the population of the facility and the level of control needed to create a sense of security and safety.

No security measures can completely eliminate every threat, rather they should be focused at preventing and mitigating crime.
