D-Link now shipping world's first wireless 11ac IP camera with color night vision

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. — D-Link, the networking solutions provider for small- and medium-sized businesses, today announced that the D-Link® Wireless AC Day/Night Camera (DCS-2136L) is now shipping. The DCS-2136L camera offers consumers and small business owners advanced networking and viewing capabilities, including a white light LED which allows the camera to produce color video even in complete darkness. The DCS-2136L also features 802.11ac Wi-Fi connectivity for longer range and increased bandwidth.

“D-Link is dedicated to providing its customers with the most advanced IP solutions that offer convenient connectivity, viewing performance, flexibility, and expanded accessibility,” said Vance Kozik, director of marketing, IP Surveillance, D-Link Systems, Inc. “As the demand for affordable, yet powerful residential and SMB wireless surveillance solutions continues to expand, D-Link is pushing the market forward with the first IP camera to support the new wireless 11ac standard.”

The DCS-2136L allows users to leverage the most up-to-date wireless standard and offers expanded bandwidth to support multiple cameras on a wireless network, ensuring Wi-Fi compatibility and a broad range of support for years to come. Incorporating new Color Night Vision technology combined with an integrated white light LED, the DCS-2136L produces color video in complete darkness to help with identification purposes. The highly visible white light LED can alert intruders that they are being watched, and often drives them to look directly at the camera, a novel way to capture face details of an intruder wearing an otherwise concealing baseball cap or hoodie.

Featuring mydlink support, the DCS-2136L is simple to install on an existing network. Utilizing the mydlink™ portal, users can view streaming video from a PC, notebook, iPhone®, iPad®, or Android™ device, as well as leverage enhanced remote capabilities via the free mydlink Lite app. The app offers seamless access to camera feeds from anywhere and a host of newly added features for expanded remote control, including motion detection settings, pinch-to-zoom viewing, day/night viewing options, two-way audio, remote pan and tilt of live video, and the ability to configure recording1 schedules and override options2.

Additional camera features include:

· HD resolution 1280x720 HD (1 megapixel)

Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (WPS) for simple three step installation

· H.264, MPEG-4 and Motion JPEG compression

· Backwards compatibility with 802.11n/b/g

· ONVIF Support

· Built-in PIR sensor for enhanced motion detection

· Two-way audio with built-in microphone and speaker

· microSD Card (SDHC) slot for local storage
