DBIA announces 2014 Design-Build project award winners

Winners honored for excellence in design, process and teaming, in addition to achieving budget and schedule goals and exceeding owner expectations


The Design-Build Institute of America, which defines, teaches and promotes best practices in design-build, announced its 19th annual Design-Build Project/Team Award winners, according to an article on the Medical Construction & Design website.

The selected projects demonstrate “Design-Build Done Right” through excellence in design, process and teaming, in addition to achieving budget and schedule goals and exceeding owner expectations, the article said.

The 2014 Design-Build Project/Team Awards honor projects in nine categories, including healthcare facilities, aviation, civic buildings, commercial/office buildings, industrial/process/research facilities, educational facilities, rehabilitation/renovation/restoration, transportation and water/wastewater.

The 2014 DBIA National Award of Merit winners in the healthcare category are:

• California Health Care Facility Stockton, Stockton, Calif.

• Naval Hospital at Camp Pendleton, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

• Sharp Memorial Hospital Seismic Renovation of South and Central Towers & ICU Remodel, San Diego, Calif.
