Designing a men's health facility

Care providers have started offering men healthcare options in outpatient settings

Care providers have started offering men healthcare options in outpatient settings, according to an article on the Health Facilities Management website.

These male-centric facilities are often located in urban settings and they’re a far cry from the typical doctor’s office, the article said.

The New York University Langone Medical Center’s Preston Robert Tisch Center for Men’s Health caters to time-strapped professionals.

The facility offers a nurturing, patient-centered architectural design that includes daylighting and an amenity-laden, comfortable staff lounge

The interior finishes include wallcoverings of wool and recycled newsprint, as well as acoustically treated wood ceiling and wall panels. For public area flooring and reception desk facings, a large-format porcelain tile is embellished with stone imprints.
