Designing facilities for the international patient

Successful programs have developed special staff and facilities to ease the way for global patients

With international healthcare travel on the rise, successful programs have developed special staff and facilities to ease the way for global patients, according to an article on the Medical Construction & Design website.

The design team created a comfortable, safe environment that was created to help relieve the stress of traveling from another country for healthcare.

In respect for cultural differences, adjacent to the lobby there is also a separate sub-waiting room offering greater privacy for women patients and female family members, the article said.
