From the placement of hand-washing sinks to creating spaces that eliminate nooks and crannies — or at least make them easier to clean — a range of ideas are opportunities are reviewed. Some of the most effective strategies don’t mesh with creating a homelike healthcare environments, Silvis said. So how do you balance comfort and safety?
