Dispute over hospital defects resolved

Embattled South Australian hospital will open within months

The legal battle between the South Australian government and the developers of the new Royal Adelaide Hospital has been resolved, paving the way for the facility to open within months, according to an article on the Perth Now website.

The $2 billion hospital will reach technical completion in about two weeks. There will then be a 90-day commissioning process for its systems and equipment.

The government and developers had been at odds over a number of defects it said had to be resolved before the government would take ownership, the article said.

Health Minister Jack Snelling said he had no regrets in taking a strong stand on the question of safety issues in the government's dealings with the developers.
