Distech Controls introduces EC-Smart-Air

Distech Controls, an innovation leader in energy management solutions, today introduced the latest addition to the company’s Allure™ communicating sensor series: EC-Smart-Air.

Designed for projects that require precise environmental sensing, the EC-Smart-Air is a three-in-one sensor, combining temperature, humidity and CO2.  This latest offering from Distech Controls allows for time and cost savings with a single device to be mounted, wired and commissioned. By combining these sensing capabilities, building owners are able to achieve optimized energy savings, with the CO2 sensor further reducing operating costs by implementing demand-controlled ventilation, reducing building over-ventilation, and avoiding conditioning outdoor air unnecessarily.

EC-Smart-Air is compatible with ECL series LONWORKS® Controllers, ECB series BACnet® Controllers and ECLYPSE™ series BACnet/IP and Wi-Fi Controllers. Housed in a in a discrete enclosure, the EC-Smart-Air is ideal for applications requiring no occupant-driven overrides such as hospitals, retail spaces,  data centres and storage spaces.

Easily wired to the dedicated subnet port, the Allure EC-Smart-Air sensor frees up controllers’ inputs. In addition, Allure EC-Smart-Air communicating sensors can also be daisy-chained to one controller for increased range while using less wire thereby reducing material costs in large open space and in multi-zone applications.

“At Distech Controls, we pride ourselves on developing products and solutions that satisfy the needs of our Partners and their projects,” said Trevor Palmer, Vice President, Products and Marketing, Distech Controls. “The remarkably favorable reception that the EC-Smart-Air has experienced since being launched is a clear indication that our team has had their ear to the ground, applying this feedback all the way from R&D, straight through to the market,” added Palmer.

The Allure EC-Smart-Air will be on display at the upcoming AHR Expo in Orlando Florida. Distech Controls invites those attending to visit booth, #1242, to learn more about the complete Allure communicating sensor series.
