E. Coli outbreaks found in seven states

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is reporting 17 cases


The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is reporting 17 cases of e. coli, found across seven states, according to an article on the WNPR website.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service are investigating, but so far haven’t linked a specific source.

Maura Downes, director of communications for the Connecticut, one of the states affected, Department of Public Health said the best way to prevent contracting the illness is by washing hands.

Downes said the Department of Public Health is assisting the CDC in their investigation.
