Eaton named by EPA as a 2015 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year

Power management company Eaton announced that it is being honored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a 2015 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year award winner. The honor focuses on the company’s leadership in manufacturing ENERGY STAR-certified lighting products and educating customers about the environmental benefits when using energy-efficient products. Eaton will be recognized for its accomplishments at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on April 20, 2015.

“Eaton is dedicated to manufacturing energy-efficient products that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and protect the environment while helping our customers save money and energy,” said Mark Eubanks, president, Eaton’s Cooper Lighting Division. “We are honored that Eaton is being recognized for our more than 4,000 ENERGY STAR-certified configurable lighting products, as well as our strong commitment to educate our employees, distributors and consumers about the many rewards of using ENERGY STAR-certified products.”

Eaton offers one of the broadest ranges of qualified and certified energy-saving luminaires in the North American lighting market. The company’s ENERGY STAR-certified products include both indoor and outdoor lighting luminaires including a large offering of Halo® lighting-emitting diode (LED) recessed downlights. The Halo LED downlight product line had the first ENERGY STAR®-certified light-emitting diode (LED) downlight in 2009.

Eaton has worked directly with the EPA to set test methods and thresholds for ENERGY STAR specifications to establish requirements for lighting products that can save energy, but also be cost-effective for consumers.

Eaton also works closely with utility companies throughout the country to help them accomplish their energy goals and recently worked with the local Georgia utility at its Customer Resource Center to create an educational lighting training exhibit for residential customers in the Atlanta area.

“Eaton’s ENERGY STAR-certified products are helping Americans save money, save energy and do their part to reduce our nation’s greenhouse gas emissions that fuel climate change,” said EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy. “Eaton’s efforts demonstrate a strong commitment to energy efficiency and to preserving a healthy planet for future generations.”
