Ebola death toll in Congo surpasses 1,500

A total of 2,239 Ebola cases were reported since the outbreak began


The Ebola death toll has hit 1,506 in the Democratic Republic of the Congo as of June 22, according to an article on the Becker's Clinical Leadership and Infection Control website. 

The World Health Organization also reported that a total of 2,239  Ebola cases the outbreak began in August of 2018.

The current situation is considered the second worst outbreak in history

WHO announced June 6 the outbreak could last two more years.
