A program to equip facilities and train staff on the front lines of healthcare system to deal with potentil outbreaks is running out of funding, according to an article on the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette website.

The program supports efforts to quickly identify and isolate infected people. It expires in May of 2020.

Without such continued funding, training could cease, specialized facilities could be shut down.

Congress is considering funding for the most advanced facilities, but not the full network.
