Ebola surge experiences two consecutive record-setting days

The surge came just as WHO emergency committee decided the developments did not constitute an international public health emergency

For two days in a row, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) reported record numbers of Ebola infections, according to an article on the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy website.

The surge came just before the World Health Organization (WHO) emergency committee meet to decide the developments did not constitute an international public health emergency.

At the same time, the country's health ministry said two workers at Butembo's airport were taken to the local Ebola treatment center after tests confirmed the virus.

The airport receives only small carriers. The Air Rale agent and porter had attended an unsafe burial of a friend who died from Ebola.
