Emergency power code changes expected for healthcare facilities

Many expect that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will adopt the 2012 editions of the National Fire Protection Association's Life Safety Code and Health Care Facilities Code soon

Most healthcare facilities’ professionals expect that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and accrediting organizations will adopt the 2012 editions of the National Fire Protection Association’s Life Safety Code (NFPA 101) and Health Care Facilities Code (NFPA 99) within the next year or so, according to an article on the Health Facilities Management website.

The move is expected to bring substantial changes to healthcare facilities' emergency power system management.
