Executive Director of the Nathan Adelson Hospice Foundation Named


 Karen Rubel, President and CEO of Nathan Adelson Hospice, today announced Caleen Norrod Johnson, CFRE,  has been named as the new Executive Director of the Nathan Adelson Hospice Foundation. In her new role, Ms. Johnson will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy including fundraising events, marketing initiatives, planned giving, annual appeals, stewardship and donor engagement. 

"We are thrilled that Caleen Johnson will be leading our Foundation in the years ahead,” said Karen Rubel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Nathan Adelson Hospice. “She is a seasoned and passionate leader with proven skills and an excellent understanding of our community. We know her efforts will benefit thousands of patients and families in southern Nevada during their end of life journey.”

Funds raised by The Nathan Adelson Hospice Foundation are used to provide hospice care to uninsured and underinsured members of our community. Every year, the Foundation provides millions of dollars to maintain essential programs and services not funded by Medicare or private insurance.

Over the last 35 years, Ms. Johnson built an impressive record of accomplishment and community service. Most recently, Ms. Johnson served as Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Foundation, where she was responsible for the planning, execution, and oversight of UNLV’s corporate and foundation fundraising efforts. Previously in Nevada, she had a successful consulting practice, served as Executive Director of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Nevada, was the Director of Major Gifts for the American Cancer Society, and held the position of Director of Development for The Nature Conservancy. Ms. Johnson is a graduate of the College of William and Mary and holds a Master’s degree from George Mason University.
