Fire safety fears force remedial work healthcare facility

Builder is carrying out remedial work at a hospital it built ten years ago

Because of fears that fire protection measures are inadequate, remedial work is being carried out at University Hospital Coventry in the U.K., according to an article on the Construction Enquirer website.

A review of the fire safety separation at University Hospital revealed some potential issues with the infrastructure.

An investigation suggested that in the event of a fire, the structures to prevent it spreading were not as robust as those specified in the original plan for the building.

A program of remedial works was developed.
