Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle are being ordered to improve fire safety inside the hospital by county fire chiefs according to an article on the News and Star website.
The order relates to to fire proofing materials in the hospital which do not meet the required 60-minute protection standard to allow for safe evacuation and prevent any fire from spreading.
The fire alarm and detection system was also cited.
Hourly patrols by trained hospital staff have been introduced round-the-clock. They will continue until the fire alarm system is fully tested, the article said.
