The Florida Senate will contract with Tampa General Hospital for a plan to keep its members safe from COVID-19 during an organizational session scheduled for November, according to an article on the WFSU website.
The Senate will pay $200 per hour to the hospital for providing services – and nearly $267 per hour for “physician-specific” services.
The Hospital’s program was described as “a strike-team-like program” that connects members of the Senate’s in-house infection prevention team with infectious disease experts.
The TGH team will work with the professional staff on the development of a plan, including an evaluation of all Senate areas, from our Senator and staff offices, to public areas, to committee rooms, and the Senate Chamber, according to incoming Senate president, Wilton Simpson.
The TGH Prevention Response Outreach team, known as TPRO, will provide advice on how to safely conduct business with effective strategies in place to prevent the spread of disease, including COVID-19, according to an article on the PR Newswire. The TPRO team consists of the state's top infection prevention experts, including leaders of the TGH Infection Prevent Team, Infection Disease physicians from the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine and TGH's private practice physicians who specialize in infectious disease.
