An influenza virus sweeping through British Columbia nursing facilities has been linked to 15 deaths. Seventeen care facilities are believed to be affected, according to an article on the CBC website.
The Interior Health Authority (IHA) said either the whole site or a portion of it at each affected facility has put measures in place to prevent the further spread of the illness.
Measures include enhanced cleaning practices, limiting social social activities at the facilities and restricting visitations.
According to the heath authority, the circulating virus is the H3N2 virus.
