Focal Point to Showcase Outstanding Products, Discuss Lighting Quality at September LED Specifier Summits

Focal Point will be exhibiting their latest luminaires at the LED Specifier Summit in Denver and Seattle, as well as present seminars as part of the free educational sessions offered to visitors. Addressing needs beyond just lighting, the luminaires and seminars focus on improving human comfort and resolving some of the challenges of today’s commercial environments related to acoustics and light quality.

When the Denver event is held September 6 at the Colorado Convention Center, the architectural luminaires manufacturer (booth 220 in Exhibit Hall E1) will feature the popular ID+ Cylinders, Skydome® Edge, Seem® 1 Acoustic and Seem 1 suspended products. These same products will be on display at the Seattle show, September 25 at the Washington State Convention Center.

Mike Thornton, Chief Marketing Officer for Chicago-based Focal Point, anticipates interest for these products to carryover from the highly successful LIGHTFAIR 2018 in May.

“We experienced a great response at that show and certainly hope to have a similar experience in Denver and Seattle,” Thornton said. “Our success is attributed to a new branding effort and the investments we have made to develop new LED technologies and support what is needed in the lighting market. The products that will be on display reflect our quality, attention to detail and commitment to offer simple and complete solutions for any commercial project.”

It includes the introduction of new extensions to popular product lines such as ID+ Cylinders, Skydome Edge and Seem 1. The ID+ 3.5" and 4.5" suspended or surface mount cylinders are designed to be a companion to the downlight family, with matching aperture sizes. The one-piece, die-cast reflector features a knife edge, with a decorative reveal that serves as a heat vent while enhancing the aesthetic.

Skydome Edge attracted a lot of attention at LIGHTFAIR and so did the Seem 1 collection. Skydome Edge offers a low-profile housing, regressed lens and a sharp knife edge. The sophisticated look makes a subtle yet powerful statement on surrounding architecture with its simple lines and comfortable illumination. It also offers an acoustic companion that serves diverse commercial spaces with pendant or surface mount options.

The Seem 1 Acoustic is a linear luminaire and baffle system designed and built on the Seem 1 platform with an eco-friendly, sound absorbing housing material. The flexible system can be specified with direct, indirect, or indirect/direct light distributions, or as an unlit acoustic baffle to achieve the desired illumination and acoustic reverberation levels with a coordinated look.

Continuing on the theme of human-centric design and lighting, Matthew Blakeley, Focal Point’s Engineering Director, New Product Development, is scheduled to speak at both events. He will discuss “Advances in Quality of Light – Lighting for Human Preference” on September 6 at 3:15 p.m. in Denver and on September 25 at 1:15 p.m. in Seattle.
