CleanLink.com will host the free webcast “Preventing the Spread of C. diff” March 6 at 1 p.m. Eastern.

Clostridium difficile (C. diff) is one of the most persistent healthcare-acquired infections (HAI) currently plaguing healthcare facilities. C. diff infections cost between $17.6 million and $51.5 million and kill between 165 and 438 patients daily, according to a 2008 report by the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology.

Rich Macher, director of compliance and research for the Workplace Safety Awareness Council, will present the 60-minute session. It will cover how C. diff is spread, the areas at highest risk for contamination, proper cleaning procedures, and training practices to reduce the spread.

CleanLink is authorized by IACET to award 0.1 continuing education units to registered attendees.

Registration is now open for the free webcast.
