Healthcare Design for the New Normal

Spaces will consider the needs of healthcare workers in addition to patient experience

A recent virtual roundtable discussion hosted by Construction Specialities addressed healthcare design strategies for new reality caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Healthcare design is being pushed to the limit thanks to COVID-19. To ease the stress, experts on the panel emphasized modular construction as a way to allow healthcare facilities to be flexible.

New design spaces will highlight frontline healthcare workers. The pandemic has spotlighted how stressful the work can get. Facilities may look to add hydration stations and zen spaces into existing environments.

The roundtable also discussed the growing demand for telehealth and UV disinfecting equipment. Learn more about the discussion from moderator Sara Marberry or watch the full program for free at Construction Specialties
