A healthcare building boom is making the construction crane Florida’s state bird as healthcare facility projects are popping up in nearly two dozen communities throughout the state, according to an article on the Forward Florida website.
Construction of 22 new hospitals have been approved in the past five years because Florida’s population continues to grow at a very rapid rate and aging baby boomers are getting grayer.
Another driver is the advancing pace of modern medical technology, which can be incompatible with the design of older hospitals.
The technology can include a da Vinci surgical robot, brain mapping, cloud business intelligence and modern room designs.
