Four healthcare systems have partnered with two environmental organizations to launch a 'green' purchasing co-op to compete with group purchasing organizations, according to an article on the Modern Healthcare website.
Dartmouth-Hitchcock, Dignity Health, Gundersen Health System and Partners HealthCare teamed with Health Care Without Harm and Practice Greenhealth to launch a sustainable marketplace for environmentally friendly supplies and services.
Executives did not name the contracted suppliers, but said they included food service, furnishing and office supplies.
The group is expected to eventually move into healthcare-focused products.
