The Becker's Hospital Review website revisited a dozen ransomware attacks from 2016. Approximately 88 percent of attacks hit hospitals, according to the article.

The 12 healthcare-related ransomware attacks listed include:

• Texas-based Titus Regional Medical Center was hit with a ransomware attack in January of 2016 that prevented the hospital's access to computer files 

• Hackers shut down the IT systems of Hollywood (Calif.) Presbyterian Medical Center in February
