An argument between two hospital employees at VCU Medical Center North Hospital turned deadly. According to 8News, both individuals pulled out firearms and began shooting each other in the hospital’s stairwell.
One man was shot and pronounced dead at the scene. The other man was taken into custody. At the time of reporting, the individuals have yet to be identified. It is unclear as to why both employees had guns.
According to CBS News, no one else was involved the shooting and no additional injuries were reported. The hospital was placed under a brief lockdown, but that was lifted when the scene was deemed secure.
