The Esperance Hospital, a private facility in Eastbourne, England, was told to take ‘urgent action’ to fix food hygiene and safety lapses, according to an article on the Eastbourne Herald website.

Areas of concern included:

• Ensuring water safety monitoring is carried out in line with national guidance

• Ensuring the require planned preventative measures in relation to air handling in operating rooms are performed

• Ensuring food service staff receives appropriate training

• Ensuring food safety and hygiene legislation is complied with

The facility was also urged to assess its flooring appropriateness – as carpets were used in clinical areas.
