Guam Memorial Hospital in Tamuning is closing a wing that is vulnerable to collapse, according to an article on the Pacific Daily News website
The steel within the concrete supports has rusted and poses a major safety concern, officials said.
The wing houses various business offices, patient and social services, the quality management department and the hospital’s safety department.
The wing is the last remaining portion of the original hospital before the facility was sold to GovGuam in 1978.
