The Royal United Hospital in Bath, U.K., was fined £200,000 after a patient fell to his death through a faulty window, according to an article on the Sun website.
The patient had used “excessive and determined force” to squeeze through the small gap as neither the catch or the glass was broken, the article said.
The Royal United Hospital in Bath, Somerset, admitted it had not finished putting in place a system for maintaining its window restrictors.
The trust pleaded guilty and was fined £200,000 with a victim surcharge of £120, and ordered to pay tens of thousands of pounds costs.
