Hospital puts out call to artists for healing-art project

B.C. Children's Hospital asks Canadian artists to apply for the Children’s Healing Experience Project initiative


B.C. Children's Hospital in British Columbia has asked Canadian artists to apply for the Children’s Healing Experience Project initiative, according to an article on the Straight website.

The project plans to cover 60,000 square feet of the eight-story Teck Acute Care Centre with art to make the hospital experience less stressful.

The Teck building, currently under construction, is set to be completed by November 2017.

The budget for the art call is set at $1 million for 400 pieces.  Artists have until May 6 to apply.
