How are hospitals screening for the coronavirus?

Healthcare facilities are stepping up screening efforts


As they learn more about the coronavirus, hospitals and health systems are stepping up screening efforts, according to an article on the Local12 website.

St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Ohio, for instance, have entered active travel screening questions into a medical records system. 

Any suspicious answers would prompt an appropriate infectious disease response, from emergency rooms all the way to primary care.

Other Ohio systems are adopting similar measures. UC Health said they are screening all patients at the point of admission or check-in through registration. And TriHealth said they have also expanded infection control questions, especially about travel systemwide.
