Upstate North Carolina hospitals are receiving requests to take patients who are being evacuated from the coast and out of the path of Hurricane Irma, according to an article on the Greenville Online website.
Greenville Health System (GHS) has been asked to take four patients from a skilled nursing facility and from MUSC Health in Charleston so far.
GHS’s emergency preparedness team is monitoring the storm's potential impact and ensuring there are enough beds and staff to care for any evacuated patients.
Officials are also keeping an eye on all GHS facilities and their ability to operate in the event of a power outage and to make sure there are adequate supplies.
