Illustra introduces new Pro Series Mini-Domes

Tyco Security Products introduces the new Illustra Pro 2 megapixel mini-dome cameras, featuring new UltraVision low light technology to capture high quality color video in the most extreme low light conditions.

The new Illustra UltraVision technology allows the camera to effectively maintain color video well below 1 lux. This drastically improves the ability to identify people and objects of interest in environments near total darkness. Illustra UltraVision is ideal for applications such as parking lots, alleyways, warehouses and other lowlight settings where maintaining color and video quality is critical to the surveillance operation. In low light mode, UltraVision provides the color detail needed for users to more quickly find clear video evidence for investigations.

Beyond the UltraVision low light performance, the Illustra Pro 2MP mini-domes also feature advanced on-board analytics, including motion detection, face detection, blur detection and tampering. To minimize bandwidth use, storage requirements and to optimize performance and video quality, users can program up to five individual regions of interest to maximize the detail clarity in those specific areas identified as most important.

Available in vandal-resistant IK-10 indoor and outdoor models, the Illustra Pro 2MP mini-dome cameras operate in the most extreme temperatures, as low as -30 degrees Celsius when powered using standard PoE network power. Outdoor models are IP66-rated to provide durability and protect against water and dust damage.

Other features include:

• Automatically increases video quality around people’s faces using face detection region of interest intelligence

• True wide dynamic range (100db) to optimize video in extreme bright and dark areas

• Blur detection intelligence to alert users when camera focus or cleaning is necessary so cameras can be refocused immediately, reducing downtime and maintenance calls

• Motorized 9-22 mm lens option available for installations with longer range field of view needs

“In many security scenarios today, it’s critically important to be able to identify people and objects of interest in extreme low light situations,” said Steve Carney, Senior Director of Product Marketing, Video and Integration Platforms, Tyco Security Products. “With the introduction of Illustra Ultravision, Tyco Security Products is able to provide exceptional low light color video quality 24/7 for our customers.”

Compatible with American Dynamics VideoEdge and exacqVision video management system (VMS) software and recorders, the Illustra Pro mini-dome cameras can be easily configured into a video security system saving installation time and money. The camera is exacqVision Edge ready, so exacqVision video management system (VMS) software can be installed directly on the camera for a complete high definition IP video solution. Also, a full line of indoor plenum caps and mounting clips are available for recessed flush installation. Various outdoor mounting options are available as well for quick installation in any setting.
