Improving the patient experience is the focus of healthcare construction according to a survey conducted by Health Facilities Management and the American Society for Healthcare Engineering of the American Hospital Association.
The survey polled a random sample of 3,125 hospital and health system executives to learn about trends in hospital construction.
More than 86 percent of survey respondents said that patient satisfaction is “very important” in driving design changes to health facilities and/or services.
Some 63 percent of respondents said they now include patients and community members in the design process.
