Indianapolis hospital closes operating rooms to conduct air quality testing

Community Hospital North has voluntarily suspended the use of six of its operating rooms

Community Hospital North in Indianapolis, Ind., has voluntarily suspended the use of six of its operating rooms so they can conduct air quality testing, according to an article on the Indy Channel website.

The rooms were closed after the Joint Commission identified a potential issue at the hospital related to discoloration on the ceiling tiles and walls in the operating room corridor.

"Community is committed to ensuring the safety of our patients and their families, our employees and our physicians," the hospital said in the statement.

The use of those rooms will remain suspended until tests can confirm that there are no safety issues.
