Infection Control Training From CDC Supports Existing Efforts

Program targets frontline healthcare workers and could supplement senior living community offerings


The federal government has launched on infection prevention and control training program on infection prevention and control that targets frontline workers and could supplement senior living community efforts, according to an article on the McKnight’s website.

Project Firstline delivers core training through 10-minute interactive videos that address immediate workforce infection control. 

The program offers templates, sample letters, posters and signage to help employees implement infection control protocols. 

There was also an infection prevention and control assessment tool that looks at visitor restriction, personal protective equipment, infection prevention and control practices, hand hygiene, communication, education, monitoring and screening of employees and residents.
