The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) warned Detroit's DMC Harper University Hospital and DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital that they could be cut from the Medicare program April 15 unless they correct infection control issues, according to an article on the Becker's Clinical Leadership and Infection Control website.
The issues were found during surveys conducted by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs in October of 2018.
The hospitals will be allowed to submit a plan to correct the issues.
CMS told the hospitals they had until Jan. 25 to submit a plan of correction.
