According to a new report from the HHS Office of the Inspector General, 77 percent of ambulatory surgery centers (ASC) had at least one violation, and 25 percent of them had serious deficiencies, according to an article on the Healthcare Dive website.
Infection control was more common than other issues.
Infection control also ranked as the second most common patient complaint.
The number of ASCs grew 25 percent from 2006 to 2017, according to OIG.
