Intermountain Healthcare Foundation announced a $50 million commitment from Larry and Heidi Canarelli to help bring a stand-alone children's hospital closer to reality.
To honor the family's gift, Intermountain Health will name the inpatient tower the Larry & Heidi Canarelli Inpatient Tower. Set to open in 2030, the tower will be a transformational place of healing, where breakthrough technology, specialized pediatric expertise and extraordinary compassion come together for children and families. It will include 180 inpatient beds, with room to expand to 228.
Planned services include a trauma center, an emergency department, the state's highest-level neonatal intensive care unit, pediatric intensive care, cancer center, behavioral health services, child abuse treatment center and advanced medical and surgical specialties.
Later this month, Intermountain Health is expected to break ground for the hospital at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Harry Reid Research and Technology Park, in southwest Las Vegas.
