JLL named LEED Proven Provider by Green Business Certification Inc.

A testament to its dedication to sustainability, JLL (NYSE: JLL) earned designation as a Green Business Certification Inc (GBCI) LEED® Proven Provider™. This recognition in the Interior Design and Construction rating system family acknowledges the firm’s consistency in demonstrating a level of excellence in administering LEED projects.

“The rigor and process of the LEED rating system sets the bar high and challenges us as real estate professionals to think beyond the day to day and focus on the future,” said Will Weaver, Senior Project Manager and Sustainability Practice Lead, JLL Project and Development Services. “This designation allows us to provide our clients with opportunities to achieve LEED certification at the best cost and ensures our clients benefit from industry best practices and thought leadership at the highest level.”

The LEED Proven Provider designation was developed to streamline the project review process for experienced organizations. Designations are given in three families: Building Design and Construction, Interior Design and Construction and Operations and Maintenance. They are designed to encourage and reward high-quality LEED project submissions to minimize the need for additional work during the review process, which allows JLL to further invest in quality control, continuous improvement and enhancement of the certification experience.

“Quality is at the core of the LEED certification process, and JLL has exhibited expertise in helping to bring healthy, high-performing buildings to the market,” said Doug Gatlin, vice president of program delivery, U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and GBCI. “The LEED Proven Provider model represents a great partnership between JLL and GBCI, because it allows us to maintain a rigorous certification program and gives JLL the opportunity to deliver LEED projects to its clients faster.”

JLL has completed more than 400 U.S. and 80 international LEED projects within the past year. Recently certified projects include:

·       Barclays Call Center, Henderson, NV -- In keeping with its Climate Action Programme, Barclays chose to incorporate a range of sustainability considerations in the design, construction and operation of the call center, in line with LEED criteria. JLL devised a strategy that achieved LEED Gold certification without any impact to cost or schedule. The executed strategy provides excellent indoor environmental conditions for staff, with good thermal comfort design and improved lighting.

·       Two Wells Fargo Center – 29th Floor, Charlotte, NC – Consistent with its Workplace 2020 vision, Wells Fargo chose to pursue LEED certification early in their design planning, representing a commitment from the corporate leadership to their employees’ health and wellness, as well as an outward representation to the community and world at large. JLL implemented a strategic approach for achieving LEED Platinum that maintained a focus on the workplace as a venue to develop more satisfied, healthier employees and enhance worker productivity.

Organizations that demonstrate and maintain high-quality project submissions through LEED Proven Provider receive significant benefits, such as greater access to a LEED reviewer and recognition from USGBC for their sustained track record of high-quality project submissions.
