Kemper System to demo new liquid-applied ‘cool roof’

Kemper System America, Inc. will demonstrate a new reflective roofing system at the International Roofing Expo (IRE), February 17-19 in Orlando, Fla.

With a high Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) of 110, Kemperol® Reflect 2K FR can dramatically reduce the impact of infrared rays on building cooling requirements.

Demos are scheduled at IRE booth #757 in West Hall A of the Convention Center,

Weds. and Thurs. at 12 noon and 2:30 p.m., and Fri. at 1 p.m.

“Roofing contractors are choosing Kemperol® Reflect because it’s odor-free and easy-to-apply, even around complicated details and penetrations. And they trust Kemper System for high-performance membrane waterproofing solutions,” says Managing Director Richard Doornink.

The low VOC resin membrane system consists of 70 percent rapidly renewable resources and is fire rated for Class-A assemblies.

Supporting Sustainable Design

The new Cool Roof system exceeds requirements for LEED credits under the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification program. The bright white surface also reduces the Urban Heat Island effect, where heat radiating from buildings and asphalt raises the local temperature.

Performance

Introduced in North America in 2015, Kemperol® Reflect 2K FR offers the same advantages as the company’s best-selling Kemperol® 2K-PUR membrane system, popular for Green Roofs and Blue Roofs. The new reflective roofing system does not require topcoats, reducing labor costs and installation time.

Both systems are fully reinforced membranes that can stand up to harsh conditions including: sun, wind, rain, ponding water, snow and ice. Both fully adhere to substrates, and are self-flashing and self-terminating. They can monolithically seal roof perimeters, multiple penetrations and virtually any architectural detail.

Kemper System has been a global leader in cold, liquid-applied, reinforced roofing and waterproofing technology for over 50 years, having invented the technology and holding the first patents. Kemper System is also a leader in solvent-free and odor-free liquid-membrane systems and provides long-term, built-to-last solutions for: white roofs, green roofs, blue roofs, new roof assemblies, existing roof recovery, metal roofs, balconies and terraces, plazas, historic restoration, gutterways, interior and industrial applications and below-grade waterproofing.
