LDM Group and NextGen Healthcare partner to provide messages to improve medication adherence

ST. LOUIS—LDM Group, LLC, a leading targeted healthcare communications company, announced today that NextGen Healthcare will offer LDM’s clinically relevant healthcare messaging programs to its ambulatory Electronic Health Record (EHR) clients. Under the agreement, NextGen Healthcare will offer LDM’s patented messaging platform to its network of providers and patients through various NextGen® EHR applications.

LDM provides real-time, clinically relevant healthcare messaging, which helps improve patient medication adherence and overall health outcomes while preserving patient privacy. LDM will provide this clinically relevant information through its patented and certified ConnectSys® 3.0 system, which supports LDM’s portfolio of messaging programs at the point-of-care.

In a recent study, the IMS Institute for Healthcare Informatics found that better adherence and more careful prescribing of antibiotics could reduce total annual health expenditures in the U.S. by eight percent. LDM’s medication adherence programs, which are disseminated by the health care provider, are produced in real-time as the prescription is being ordered during a physician-patient consultation. The programs enhance the physician-patient dialogue by providing personalized messaging and the impetus for the patient to fill their prescription. LDM’s services provide value to both the prescribers and the patients during the “teachable moment” at the point of care.

“We are excited to partner with NextGen as both organizations continually strive to find innovative ways to engage patients in their care by taking a proactive role in their health,” said Mark Heinold, CEO of LDM Group.

NextGen Healthcare and LDM will work together to create additional product offerings that serve to increase patient compliance centered around medications and chronic disease states, increasing overall population health and resulting in more informed patients. By integrating LDM’s interactive solutions, NextGen Healthcare demonstrates the company’s commitment to improving patient drug safety by offering the most critical drug information needed, concisely and conveniently within workflow, at the point of prescribing.

“This partnership with LDM further demonstrates our commitment to improving health outcomes by providing clinically relevant content to patients at the point of care,” said Gene DuAime, Vice President of Data and Analytics for NextGen Healthcare.
