Massachusetts-based Partners Healthcare has officially opened its first urgent care location and two more are being planned, according to an article on the Boston Business Journal website.
Urgent care has been embraced throughout the health sector as a means to increase access to care, boost referrals to parent organizations, all while offering services at low cost, the article said.
Partners is opening its centers in partnership with MedSpring, a Texas-based urgent care chain that also runs centers in Austin, Chicago, Dallas and Houston.
Partners has said that the goal is to offer a low-cost option for those seeking care.
