Legionnaires' found at Illinois mental health facility

A patient at the Chester Mental Health Center in Chester has been diagnosed


A patient at the Chester Mental Health Center in Chester, Ill., has been diagnosed with Legionnaires' disease, according to an article on the Belleville News-Democrat website.

The Illinois Department of Human Services has turned off the water to the patient's unit and is supplying bottled water for staff and patients.

IDHS had not found the source of the bacteria.

The Illinois Department of Public Health has also reported two cases of Legionnaire's disease at the Illinois Veterans Home at Quincy.
