Huntington Hospital in Long Island, N.Y., is spending $4.7 million to place four energy-efficient cooling systems on Huntington Hospital’s roof above the north wing of the facility, according to an article on the Newsday's website.
The chillers are expected to save the health system about $240,000 in energy bills annually — a 10 percent overall reduction.
“The fan motors and compressors in the new chillers have the ability to adjust their production specific to actual demand," Randy Howard, vice president of operations at Huntington Hospital, said in the article.
Huntington also will earn about $200,000 in energy rebates from the Public Service Electric & Gas Company.
