LyondellBasell Advances the Storage of Medicine and Healthcare Articles at Low Temperatures

LyondellBasell a plastics, chemicals and refining company, is introducing Purell EP374M, a polypropylene (PP) heterophasic copolymer that advances the storage of medicine and healthcare articles.

Temperatures between -2 and 8 degrees Celsius are normal conditions in the storage of medicine. Medical containers, pharmaceutical packaging and healthcare articles need to withstand low storage temperatures without becoming brittle or porous. Purell EP374M, produced using a non-phthalate catalyst, can be used in injection molding applications for the healthcare industry and offers a secure alternative.

“Customers report that articles produced with Purell EP374M maintain its toughness and impact resistance within a broad temperature window, including sub-zero temperatures,” said Rodney Fox, marketing manager of LyondellBasell’s European PP Healthcare and Caps and Closures business. “This product complements our extensive range of products for the healthcare industry.”

As part of the Purell family of grades, this resin also benefits from LyondellBasell’s Purell Service Concept, developed for customers in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry, offering dedicated manufacturing procedures and standards for products offering dedicated manufacturing procedures and standards for products.
