Maryland hospital's neonatal couplet care rooms encourage bonding

Keeping babies close to their families may shorten hospital stay for some

The renovation of the Family Birthing Center at Carroll Hospital includes neonatal couplet care rooms to encourage babies' bonding with families, according to an article on the Carroll County Times website.

The five neonatal couplet care rooms have beds for babies requiring a higher level of care alongside a bed for their mothers in the same suite.

Healthy babies have been able to stay in a private suite with their mothers right away at Carroll Hospital for more than 20 years.
