Methodist Healthcare celebrated the groundbreaking of Methodist ER Medina Valley, the newest free-standing emergency room (FSER) designed to improve access emergency care for residents of Medina Valley and surrounding community.

The 11,175 square foot facility will operate as an extension of Methodist Hospital Westover Hills. The FSER will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing care for both adults and pediatric patients. The location will have 12 emergency treatment rooms, an onsite laboratory, and advanced imaging capabilities, including CT and radiology.

An FSER is a full-service emergency center that operates independently from a hospital campus, providing the same level of emergency care you would expect in a hospital ER. Often described as a “neighborhood ER,” these facilities are conveniently located close to home and designed for easy access, with features like convenient parking and shorter wait times.

Construction began in March 2026 and is projected for completion by March 2027. This FSER will bring the health system’s total number to eleven.
