Michigan State University finds Legionella in diagnostic lab

Levels of Legionella bacteria were detected in a cooling tower at the university’s Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory


Michigan State University is waiting on test results to confirm that the bacteria that causes Legionnaire's disease has been eliminated, according to an article on the WILX website.

MSU officials confirmed levels of Legionella bacteria were detected in a cooling tower at the university’s Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory.

Technicians spent the weekend sanitizing the cooling tower.

The university said that there was no impact on the environment and there are no reports of anyone being infected.
